The team at 54th Street Dental in Midtown has a variety of restorative options available to fit the unique needs of our patients.

Our goal is to eliminate and repair areas that are compromised, so that you can eat the foods you love and smile with confidence. Some of the symptoms of tooth decay or broken teeth can include:

  • Sensitivity when eating certain types of food
  • Pain when you chew
  • Swelling or a “pimple” on the gums
  • An area that feels rough to your tongue
  • Food becoming lodged between teeth
  • Dull aching or sharp pain

First, we’ll take an x-ray of the tooth to see the extent of the damage. Depending on what exactly it is that your smile needs, you can choose from a selection of restorations or prosthetics, such as:

Custom Crowns

If your tooth is severely cracked or decayed, it may not be possible to patch it with a filling. Instead, we will cover the entire tooth up to the gumlines with an artificial crown. The integrity of the restoration allows the tooth to continue biting and chewing as before, without breaking down any further. Crowns are also recommended for teeth that have been treated with a root canal.

Fixed Bridges

Bridges are a reliable way to replace one or two missing teeth when healthy teeth are adjacent to the open space. The artificial crown is supported on each side by functional crowns, which are bonded over the neighboring teeth or dental implants to “bridge” the open space.

Minimally Invasive Fillings

Most of our patients choose white, composite fillings that match the shade of their natural teeth. These restorations are free of metals and are less invasive to place than traditional types of amalgam fillings.

Dental Implant Restorations

Are you considering dental implants? Our New York dentists can work with your implant specialist to create fixed restorations such as crowns, bridges, or implant-supported dentures for a convenient and permanent tooth replacement option.

Replacing all of your teeth at one time is simple, thanks to our customized full and partial denture options. Full dentures replace all of the upper or lower teeth with a removable “plate,” while partial dentures snap into place around teeth that are healthy enough to retain.

Root Canal Therapy

You don’t have to visit an endodontist to have your root canal treatment. Our dentists can treat your tooth right here in our office while you sit back and relax with a bit of sedation or take advantage of our chairs with built-in massage pads.
